Aircell 5 is a 5 mm thin, flexible coaxial cable for the frequency range up to 10 GHz.
The - related to the diameter - very low loss and the otio to use RG-58 standard coaxial connectors alternatively makes this cable the first choice not only for Wireless-LAN, but for many telecommunications applications as well!
The relatively low loss of Aircell 5 is achieved by a low-loss PE-Compound Dielectric(LLC) with a gas proportion of more than 70%.
Furthermore, this material is humidity resistant.The single core inner conductor of Aircell 5 is made of low in oxygen copper (OFC). To get a good attenuation of shielding and low losses as well, the outer conductor is manufacturedwith two cores of copper: On a thin, overlapping copper foil the braided hose is put on,covering a range of 72%. The foil is PE-coated on the inner side and hence well protectedagainst crack formation due to a too small bending radius. The black PVC outer cover ofAircell 5 is UV-stabilized.
A big plus for Aircell 5 is the usability of common coaxial connectors: Aircell 5 has the same outerdiameter as the well-known RG 58 coaxial cable.Hence nearly all common RG 58 coaxial connectors can be used. Aircell 5 is a moderncoaxial cable for many applications within the field of telecommunications: It is flexible, has alow loss and is stray radiation safe.
